Charles F. Moore was born and raised in the City of St. Clair. His strong belief that the city should participate in the growing importance of the beautiful waterways in this area led him to dedicate the time and effort to make this harbor a reality and one of the finest in the State of Michigan. Therefore, it is only fitting that Charles F. Moore be recognized and this boat harbor be named in his honor (1986).
